On behalf of The Wharton Club of Northern California, we are delighted to welcome you to the first event in our new Hedge Fund, Private Equity and Venture Capital series. This panel discussion, themed "Recruiting 101”, will provide an opportunity to discuss, debate and evaluate the impact on recruiting of some major changes in the private equity and venture capital investment landscape.
In addition to trends, our panelists who comprise of people from each of the 3 industries as well as recruiters focused on this space, will address other topics such as "Breaking into the industry - a guide for career changers" and "Tailoring your resume to catch a HF/ VC/ PE recruiter's eye".

Jessica Wu - Amity Partners
Jessica joined Amity Search Partners in 2010 in the San Francisco office. Previously, Jessica was a Research Associate at Hall Capital Partners – an investment management firm with approximately $20 billion of assets under advisement. At Hall Capital, she was responsible for investments in real estate and natural resource funds. Prior to joining Hall Capital, Jessica worked as a Finance Associate at two leading education organizations – the KIPP Foundation and the Edison Schools. She began her career as an analyst in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley. Jessica graduated cum laude from Harvard College with a B.A. in Economics, and received her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Arif Janmohamed - Lightspeed Ventures
Arif joined Lightspeed in 2008 and focuses primarily on investments in the areas of infrastructure, communications, networking, and software. Prior to joining Lightspeed, Arif worked in the Corporate Business Development group at Cisco where he focused on opportunities in the unified communications and SaaS market. Before joining Cisco Systems, he was with Novitas Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm. Earlier in his career, Arif worked in technical development and product management roles at WebTV (acquired by MSFT), Andes Networks (acquired by SUNW), and Sun Microsystems. Arif holds an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a BSc in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada.

Louis Marchetti - Vista Equity Partners
Prior to joining Vista, Lou worked as a generalist at Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking. He also worked at Boliven, a technology-based start-up with a focus on intellectual property.
Before his time with Boliven, Lou worked in the policy and strategy office of the U.S. Secretary of State, where he managed an $8 billion portfolio of U.S. investments and helped lead a restructuring of the $20 billion U.S. foreign aid investment program. Prior to that, Lou was an M&A focused investment banker at Morgan Joseph & Co.  Lou holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Sunil Asnani, Portfolio Manager
Sunil Asnani is a Portfolio Manager at Matthews International Capital Management, LLC and co-manages the firm’s India strategy. Prior to joining the firm in 2008 as a Research Analyst, he was a Senior Associate in the Corporate Finance and Strategy practice for McKinsey & Company in New York. In 2006, Sunil earned his M.B.A from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. From 1999 to 2004, he served in various capacities, including as Superintendent of Police, for the Indian Police Service in Trivandrum, India. Sunil received a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi, India. He is fluent in Sindhi, Hindi and Malayalam. Sunil has been a Portfolio Manager of the Matthews India Fund since 2010.

Passport Capital LLC is a San Francisco based, global investment firm founded by John H. Burbank III in 2000. The firm manages approximately $4.4 billion in assets.  Passport's investment process uses a combination of macroeconomic analyses to develop major themes and rigorous fundamental research on individual companies to create global portfolios.  The firm's investment team focuses on the following areas: Agriculture, Basic Materials, Consumer, Energy, Financial Services, Healthcare, Capital Markets, Internet / Technology,  India and Middle East & North Africa.   As appropriate, the firm makes available to its investors co-investment opportunities.
