About the Speaker:
Dr. Alan MacCharles leads the Lifelong Learning and Executive Education Program at Duke Kunshan University (DKU). Previously, he spent nearly 28 years with Deloitte in the UK and China as a Strategy and M&A Partner. Dr. MacCharles is a recognized advisor on geopolitics and business instability, and a frequent speaker to Fortune 500 CEOs. His recent series on ‘Reglobalization’ (co-authored with Dr. Ken Dewoskin) is featured in Fortune.
With extensive experience in joint venture formation, commercial due diligence, and corporate strategy across industries—including financial services, life sciences, hospitality, and manufacturing—Dr. MacCharles brings a wealth of practical insight. He holds a BA from the University of Waterloo, an MBA from London Business School, and a DBA from Cranfield University School of Management.
