Wharton Global High School Investment Competition

The Wharton Global High School Investment Competition is a free, English-based, online investment simulation and group project for high school students and teachers. Participants compete with other students from around the world and learn about finance.



WHARTON GLOBAL HIGH SCHOOL INVESTMENT COMPETITION 

The Wharton School's annual investment Competition is a free, online, English language-based investment simulation for high school students and teachers around the world. Students learn about teamwork, communication, risk, diversification, company analysis, industry analysis and investing.

  • Advisors are responsible for overseeing their teams.
  •   Over the course of 10 weeks, high school students compete with other teams from around the globe.
  • Teams consist of four to seven students.
  • Teams manage a portfolioof $100,000 through the new Wharton Investment Simulator (WInS).
  • Teams are judged on the strength and creativity of their strategies, not on the growth of their portfolios.
  • Two competitiondeliverables: a mid-project team review and a final written competition report.
  • The top 50 teams presenttheir strategies at the virtual Semifinals.
  • The top 10 teams from theSemifinals are invited to the Global Finale event in Philadelphia.

The deadline to register is September 18. The top 10 teams from the semifinals are invited to present their strategies to a panel of judges during a special global finale event in Philadelphia in May 2022.
