Pricing is the moment of truth in terms of marketing and customer interactions. The ideas of pricing and revenue optimization can be used to both to generate more profit as well as valuable strategic insights into customer behavior.

Everybody has heard of the quantitative techniques such as yield management and dynamic pricing used in the airlines industry. Pricing and Revenue Optimization (PRO) and yield management have grown out of operations research and management science, and they are being applied across a wide range of industries including retail, financial services, health care, business-to-business selling, and Internet sales.

Come listen to Bob Philips, the man who "wrote the book" on Pricing and Revenue Optimization. Bob will give us an overview of the techniques behind PRO and will lead a discussion on its practical approach in different industries, showing how understanding pricing, incremental profitability, and price-elasticity can materially drive business improvement.

Prof. Robert Phillips
Bob Phillips has a PhD from Stanford, and is the founder and Chief Science Officer of Nomis Solutions, a company providing pricing and revenue optimization solutions to the financial services industry. He previously served as CTO of Manugistics, a professor at Columbia University Business School, and he is a lecturer at the Stanford Business School.
