What They Don’t Teach You in B-School About Dealing with the Boss

This seminar provides you with an inside look at how your temperament plays a key factor in building successful relationships with others on the job.

The WCNC would like to thank
DLA Piper, for sponsoring this event.

Donald Trump, Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and Oprah Winfrey. All four are world renowned. All four are wealthy. All four are influential. All four are leaders. While they share many similarities (two of them are Wharton alumni, and the other two have visited), each of these individuals represents one of four different personal styles. According to Dr. David Keirsey, author of the Please Understand Me® series (4 million sold), there are four different temperaments: the Artisan (Trump), the Guardian (Buffett), the Rational (Gates), and the Idealist (Winfrey). Each of these four types represents four different patterns of human behavior.

Regardless of your job history, at some point you have probably had a boss who resembled one of the four individuals named above. This seminar provides you with an inside look at how your temperament plays a key factor in building successful relationships with others on the job. You will walk away, saying, “I wish I knew that earlier in my career,” but will feel glad that you can at least use this knowledge moving forward.

On April 3, 2008, the WCNC will host Richard Milner and Edward Kim of Keirsey.com, the provider of the world’s leading temperament assessment the Keirsey Temperament Sorter (KTS-II). At this exclusive WCNC event, Richard and Edward will lead you in an interactive program on how to use knowledge of temperament to effectively engage with colleagues, bosses, direct reports, teams and clients.

As a participant of this program, you will be able to take the KTS-II, and receive a complimentary interpretive report describing your unique temperament/character type, and leadership style. The KTS-II and the interpretive report you will receive is utilized by two thirds of the Fortune 500, the U.S. government, major academic institutions, global consulting firms, innovative social enterprises and faith based organizations. The following topics will be addressed through this seminar:

  • How to maximize your unique leadership style. (Leadership Development)
  • How to build and lead effective teams. (Teamwork)
  • How to work with different types of leaders. (Interaction Dynamics)
  • How to build a meaningful career that matches who you are. (Self Discovery)
