Business Leadership Luncheon: Dick Bailey, Teradyne Sales Veteran

Join us for a luncheon on Tuesday, October 7th, 2003 in Palo Alto with Teradyne sales veteran, Dick Bailey!

Join us for a luncheon on Tuesday, October 7th in Palo Alto with Teradyne sales veteran, Dick Bailey. Dick was a panelist for the Wharton Club's Pearls of Wisdom--Selling to the Executive Suite event last November, and our attendees at that standing-room-only event got straight thinking and solid war stories from Dick. His answers and insights were not only educational and entertaining but also actionable. This is your opportunity to have a more personal, one-on-one conversation with Dick at the Wharton Club of Northern California's next Business Leadership Luncheon.

Dick Bailey is now retired but was well-known in the industry for being as tough on his customers--such as Intel, Micron Technologies, Motorola, and National Semiconductor--as he was on his colleagues at Teradyne. He did whatever it took to ensure that his customers were as successful as Teradyne could make them. This makes for a plethora of insights into the sales process that Dick will share with us.

Plan now to join us for an insightful and thought-provoking luncheon on Tuesday, October 7th in Palo Alto!

Richard Bailey sold capital test equipment at Teradyne, Inc. for 31 years and had a total of 40 years experience in the semiconductor and semiconductor capital equipment industries. Dick is currently retired but spent the last ten years of his career at Teradyne focusing exclusively on developing and keeping major accounts such as Intel, Micron Technologies, Motorola, National Semiconductor--literally every major semiconductor manufacturer in the U.S. In the process, Dick became well-acquainted with executive management at all these companies. He earned the reputation of being the strongest customer advocate inside Teradyne and was so recognized by both his customers and his colleagues within the company. Dick is perhaps best known for his willingness to go head-to-head with anyone inside the company when it came to doing right by the customer and *also* for his willingness to go toe-to-toe with any customer when it came to doing right by Teradyne. Teradyne (NYSE: TER) is the world's leading provider of automatic test equipment to the semiconductor industry and had sales in the year ended 2001 of $1.44 billion

The Business Leadership Roundtable Luncheons is a new series of events launched by The Wharton Club of Northern California. These are small-group events restricted to 12-15 Club members. The intent is to give a small group of alumni an opportunity to meet with a senior business executive and discuss issues related to their industry, business leadership, and career planning. These events are modeled along the Zweig Executive Dinner series back on campus. The events will be moderated and structured in a way that all the participants can ask questions and participate in the discussion.
