An interactive, practical workshop at Michael's at Shoreline in Mountain View
will give you the tools and information needed to jumpstart an independent consulting practice.

Getting Started in Independent Consulting will give you the tools and information needed to jumpstart an independent consulting practice. In this interactive, highly practical workshop, you will begin to:

- Develop a clear and compelling vision of the consulting practice you want to have.
- Define your unique area of expertise.
- Calculate (in time and money) the initial investment you need to immediately put forth a professional image.
- Learn how to build and leverage your professional community as well as the six types of people you should have in your network.
- Meet accomplished, like-minded people who may develop into a peer network of independent consultants.

Cost: $25 for WCNC Members, Wharton summer interns, Affiliate Club Members and their accompanied guests; $45 for Non-Member alumni and other guests. $10 additional after 12:00pm Monday, July 31st and for day-of-event registrations, if available. Cancellation after 12:00pm Monday, July 31st at the discretion of the WCNC.

Robbie Kellman Baxter
Robbie Kellman Baxter, Stanford MBA, is the founder of Peninsula Strategies, a strategy consulting firm focused on helping companies accelerate growth through new markets and product offerings. Corporate clients have included industry leaders Netflix, Sun Microsystems and Oracle, as well as fast-growing private companies MarketTools (makers of Zoomerang) and PayCycle.

Since establishing Peninsula Strategies in 2001, Ms. Baxter has become a passionate advocate for the path of independent consultant because of the variety of work, flexible schedule, and ability to directly add value for clients. She frequently is asked to write and speak to professional service providers about how to build a successful independent practice. A lifelong resident of the Bay Area, Ms. Baxter lives with her husband, Bob, and their three children in Menlo Park. She eagerly shares her experiences in consulting and enjoys guiding others on this appealing and satisfying path.
