Giants Community Fund Charity Raffle!

Through the kindness of the Giants organization, our raffle will this year include the chance of a lifetime -- to receive an autographed bat ($4,400 value) personally presented to you by Hall of Famer Willie McCovey!

To help benefit our local community, the Club will again have a sports memorabilia raffle. This was a great success last year, and all proceeds of the raffle go to the Giants Community Fund, an organization that uses baseball as a forum to encourage youngsters and families to live healthy, productive lives. Through the kindness of the Giants organization, our raffle will this year include the chance of a lifetime -- to receive an autographed bat ($4,400 value) personally presented to you by Hall of Famer Willie McCovey! Buy as many raffle tickets as you can to support the Giants Community Fund and have your chance to win a chance of a lifetime! Everyone who buys a raffle ticket will also receive a Willie McCovey Stretch Drive button.

In addition, you may choose to buy an autographed bat or ball experience by visiting: https://secure.mlb.com/sf/community/gcf/stretch_drive/stretch_drive_form.jsp

Please join us in supporting the Giants Community Fund, the 501(c)(3) non-profit Foundation of the SF Giants!

Each raffle ticket costs $10, and will support a great cause.

Please note three important points:

1. All of the proceeds from the raffle tickets--i.e., 100%--will be donated directly to the Giants Community Fund.

2. The Giants Community Fund has been a key player in the Wharton Club's ability to host this event.
It's through their internal political pull with the Giants' organization that we have been able to (1) get as large a venue room as we have for the Chalk Talk--the bigger the room, the more Wharton Club members we can accommodate for this event--and (2) keep the costs for this other event components down as low as they are. We hope everyone realizes what an incredible value this event is at its current price point.
This is an opportunity to both do good and directly thank an organization that has been key to letting us offer such an amazing event to our Club members.

3. Everyone is eligible! We encourage as many people as possible to participate and would appreciate your forwarding this opportunity to anybody who might be interested in winning a piece of baseball memorabilia. Raffle participants do not have to be present to win, and special arrangements for pick-up are available.
Please take the opportunity here to both support a great cause and also have the Wharton Community be recognized as a good citizen within the world of the San Francisco Giants and the Giants Community Fund!

About the Giants Community Fund
The Giants Community Fund uses baseball as a forum to encourage youngsters and families to live healthy, productive lives. The Fund supports Junior Giants summer leagues throughout California, Nevada and Oregon and collaborates with the San Francisco Giants to provide assistance to targeted community efforts.

The Fund supports Junior Giants summer leagues, providing self-esteem and values training, along with baseball equipment, uniforms and instructional service, to over 13,000 boys and girls 5-18 years old who otherwise could not afford to play organized baseball. Parents, volunteer coaches, and umpires place a higher value on character than on wins and losses, and with their help, the Junior Giants program prepares young people to be leaders in their community.
In addition to supporting public awareness campaigns such as Until There's A Cure Day and Strike Out Violence Day, the Fund also annually provides grants to charitable organizations that provide important programs in the following areas:
  • Education/Literacy
  • Health
  • Violence Prevention
